Branched-chain amino acids
The branched-chain amino acids are three of the eight essential amino acids (nine if you include histidine). "Essential" means that the body must get these amino acids from the diet. Unlike many other amino acids and compounds, the body is unable to manufacture the eight "essential" amino acids.

Leucine, isoleucine, and valine are considered the most anabolic of all twenty amino acids of which muscle is comprised. Leucine is considered the most anabolic, which is why there is a disproportionately higher amount of leucine.
